Happy Mother's &/or Wife's Day

Someone told me yesterday that their husband didn't do anything for them for Mother's Day because she wasn't his mother.

What the?

I told Steven this and he said, "What the?"

Steven went on to say that I take care of him. I feed him, clothe him, cut his hair, take care of his finances, clean up after him, make sure the oil gets changed, and still let him put his candy wrappers in my purse (why do they think your the garbage can?). The list goes on and on.

So I ask you your opinion:

Do husbands need to get their
WIFE something for Mother's Day?

NOPE! I don't think we should expect anything, even from our children. My sister in law likes to have photos taken of her with her children on Mother's day. They grab their nice dSLR and head for some place with tulips. This year my daughter gave me a homemade card and $5 from her piggy bank and I spent the afternoon with my other sister in law at the movies while her husband watched all of the kids. Sorry to be the antagonist here, but after almost dying there are a lot of things I really don't worry about anymore. For us, it's the daily hugs, I love you's, etc.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Husband's should get their wife something for mother's day if they are a mother. And the gift should be to the wife for being a mother to his children.

In no event should a husband get the wife something for mother's day because she "mothers" him. That is inappropriate. Would it be appropriate for the husband to have sex with his mother? Okay so there are lines.

Quit trying to gang up on the presents.

But yes, the husband should get something for the wife who is the mother to his children and specifically he should help the children get/do something special.

As the mother of four sons (one being your happy hubby), I am happy to say each son honored the mother of their children as well as me, their own mother. I loved hearing what they did to make the day special and how they involved the kids in the celebrations. However, I really feel we don't need a holiday to honor moms and dads 'cause it needs to be done daily. It's the toughest job in the world.... lv, mil
