I just screwed up chocolate chip cookies......and it's sadly not the first time.
Chocolate chip cookies? Are you kidding me? That's the most basic thing one can bake!
I cannot bake for the life of me. I will say, however, that I feel very comfortable cooking just about any dish you can throw at me. I just don't have the knack for any sort of baking. I think I'm too impatient er just stubborn.
- I never wait long enough for something to rise/chill/set long enough
- I never know when to stop stirring or kneading
- I'm not a good measurer - I cook things to taste. Baking requires exact measuring.
- Baking usually equals sweet. I'm the only one in my house with an unquenchable sweet-toothe. That spells: DANGER. Thus I don't practice often enough because my hips are unforgiving.
- I grew up near a Pepperidge Farm Factory - why mess with perfection?
BTW: I have 3 weeks and 2 days left until baby Mick comes. And THAT is why I'm even attempting baking sweets. Gotta have 'em.

I can feel your pain. I have attempted many different cookies and I have failed miserably at all but one. The only cookies I can make are pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and I think it is a more forgiving recipe than most. I am so excited for your new baby!
only 3 weeks...I want to cry...i hate missing your pregnancy! we are so coming up over to give you some nap time after baby gets here!
i'm the same way: love to cook, not so good at baking. but i made the raspberry buckle on my recipe blog tonight. oh my, it was easy AND delish. we all had two servings.
what are your baby names?? do you share or no.
No sharing of names (see why in my 12/19/06 entry). I may have to kill my mother if she found out a name before I actually use it. I can only imagine what she has said about my children's names - she ALWAYS has a comment. Ugh.
What are you talking about?! Except for the whole-wheat, splenda chicken everything was delish!!! (and even that wasn't too bad)
My mother-in-law is an amazing baker...so, I just leave it up to her. I was not blessed with that talent. Can't wait to see the new baby!
I know what you mean - the other day I totally messed up BROWNIES!!! I don't know how anyone can forget to put in the eggs - but apparantly its possible! And hey - you deserve to satisfy a few cravings when you are over 8 months - you go!
Yah, I don't make very good cookies. But Mike does. And Ashley does. What is the big secret? I don't know.
Okay I have had some of your cookies and they were very good (I have even had success trying your recipe).
