I absolutely love magazines.
If you saw my monthly subscriptions laid out on a coffee table, you'd feel like you were at the dentist.
Thanks to my mamas as well as some healthy self-splurging, right now I have a subscription to:
Parenting,
Family Fun,
Consumer Reports (thanks mama Kay),
The Ensign,
Light Cooking,
Real Simple (thanks mama Ruth),
The Friend,
Parents (yes, a second parenting mag)
& a myriad of catalogues that don't technically count as magazines, but I look forward to all the same (ie: pottery barn, j.crew). What's worse is that we used to get Creating Keepsakes, Time, House & Garden, Golf Digest, Newsweek, Better Homes & Gardens, Money......I'm feeling awkward.
But here's the thing.
All I really want is trashy gossip magazines like People or Us.
Is that weird?

That's alright, as long as you share any good gossip with me.
not to blog stalk or anything, but i have the same magazine fetish and can't really keep up with them all, but i must say that i LIVE for my Entertainment Weekly... it really gets me through the week.
That is one of the things that I miss about working at a salon! I miss Us Weekly!
Me too!!
Okay Mindy I am totally Blog snooping! What fun blog you have! Cracks me up! Mind if I stock your blog more often?
FYI I luv magazines as well. But will admit that its because I probably have adult ADD so I cant read anything longer then a few pages without feeling the need to move on to something else. So magazines are the best for what ails me. I guess I could also thank my grandmother for buying a subsription to National Geographic when I was born that expired when I turned 18. It is still my favorite mag.

We like having them around for those times when you um...can't be near a tv or computer.
I've found some great deals at Tanga Magazines every day they have a different deal on magazines. I got a years subscription to shape for $5 (for Crystal) and a years subscription to Boys life for $5 (for my nephew)
Just be sure to use the coupon code .
I am with you. I love to read trash if I have a good excuse, That is why I love to travel. Inspite of having to take care of 4 crazy kids, it gives me a reason to say, "oh I will be in the car for a billion hours, i need my people mag. to keep me sane. My sisters mother in law gave her a subscription to People and she loves to go to the mail every Friday when she gest her new copy. Brat!
What always made me feel guilty was how I actually let out a little squeal when I opened the mailbox and found my People Magazine, yet the Ensign, New Era, and Friend will remain in the plastic for a few days. To make it worse, I would find a quiet spot (for meditation purposes) and read it from cover to cover. However, only a few of the articles in my other mags got read (i.e. visiting teaching message and home teaching message). I cancelled my People. Does that mean I'm choosing the right? Ha. Just saving a heckuva lot of money.
I am the same way. I don't have them at my house, but there is something about the checkstand area and those mags that draw me in...also the doctors office...those are the first I go for. I actually turned off my TV connection last year because I was obsessed with the "Hollywood News"...that's my dirty little secret.
girl--get the PEOPLE...I've had a few gift subscriptions to it, and it comes WEEKLY! then you get kinda tired of it and don't need it as much for a year. there is nothing wrong with wanting to be "in the know"
