Grateful Day

Olivia's results came back.
We have ourselves a little heterozygote.

(awwwwwww)

This is actually a good thing. Here's the rundown; a little reminder of the genetics section in Biology 101.

GG - 2 Classic galactosemia alleles
DG - Duarte / Classic (Duarte is a less severe version of galactosemia)
NG - Normal / Classic*
NN - Normal / Normal

*What Liv has. No diet change is necessary. I can breastfeed again. Austin Milk Bank is going to LOVE me.

...and the best part...

She came back to me.

That is great news! But, . . . . does that mean that ya'll are not going to invest in the double barreled pumper?

I have no idea what you mean with all the biology, but I'm so happy for you and her! Super good news!

congrats! I cried when I read your post. It's so good to see good news after such a struggle. I really struggled with not being able to nurse Coleton after nursing Haeley for 11 months. I felt like there was a lack of closeness with him and I. But it was necessary, since he didn't need chemo and I did. I am so happy she came back to you! Ahh. Congrats! Enjoy all that extra time you'll have now.

Oh I am so happy for the both of you! I am just always so impressed by you and I have to say that year supply of milk "food storage" is pretty impressive as well! Congrats!!!

We were so happy to get your good news. With Elle being a DD combination we will definitely have to have the kids (Bradley & Paige, and Merritt too) genetically tested before any dating can occur (this has thrown a bit of a kink in our lifelong dream of being in-laws someday). We love you guys and are so relieved that it all worked out for the best!

What great news! I'm so glad you have your results, that the news was good, and that she will still nurse! That was a long road waiting for all of those results, I'm glad it's over!

Why don't you just discontinue your blog, I mean seriously.

Yeah, yeah, I know all of the excuses.
