Trippin'

This one's going around. I thought it'd be ... interesting to read some memories.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

I get to share first!! There are so many fun memories that I have of you!! I really never laugh as hard as I do when you are around. I remember taking weight lifting with you and of course pottery with Mr. Roe. Good times!

I can think of a few great memories I have with the McMonkeys. First and foremost I remember getting a call the week I moved to H-town to see if I wanted to do a Joy School with ya'll. That was a wonderful moment for me to meet some new friends and for my kids to meet new friends. I will always be grateful you guys made that call! A few others are just hanging out at apartments with our kiddo's and of course going to the zoo hundreds of times it seemed. Last but not least I remember making a day of going to IKEA with our kids. What fun times!

I know one of my first meetings was you playing the piano for my leading. I am sure the word "suck!" was involved and I almost peed my pants. I have never had an accompanist quite like you...conversationally I mean. :)

so many memories! like when you arrived in TX less than a month from your due date. I thought you were crazy. Now I'm in the same boat. At least I don't have to move everything.
I also remember fun play groups and preschool. and when I was your visiting teacher for a bit and you forgot I was coming - more than once!
I loved how we could talk about everything. And you always had the cutest clothes!!

Mmmmm-yes. Kathryn Israelson...or whatever her name is. One question, could my hair have been any bigger?

I remember you being a so cool cheerleader, and thinking you were just beautiful. And I remember you working at Sam Goody, and you and Amy were always hanging out. Who would've thunk she end up my sil?

I have a lot of fun memories of you, even though we only lived in Wyview for a short time. First, the scrapbooking. We drove up to SLC, or somewhere, and had a blast. We sang and laughed all the way home in your car. I also spent one Saturday scrapping and I think I completed maybe two pages. Then there was Halloween when you dressed up as the mad scientist and I think you borrowed my dad's lab coat or something?? Okay, there are a few memories!

I remember going to Kelli H.'s apartment to swim in her pool, but she wasn't there so we hopped the fence.

Good times, indeed.

I know this is random, but I often think of that enrichment class you taught on grilling. You really know it all I think! I miss having you down here.

One of the first times we talked was at an EN activity. I overheard you and some gals talking blogs and told you how terribly bad I was at it. You gave me some tips and encouraged me to just do it. You seriously inspired me to get it together and get motivated. My posterity (and I)thank you.

First time I saw you in church I thought, she looks nice and she dresses cute, maybe she would be my friend...no, she's really pretty, probably not. (Do you like my 3 year old brain?)
Then I met you and I was like, wow, she is really nice, and she's funny. Really funny. Hey, I like this girl.

I have lots of memories of highlighting you hair late into the night after the kids had gone to bed. You are so funny!

I agree....Sam Goody sums it up. Particularly anytime I watch Cable Guy I think of you the whole time! I remember one of our many attempts to clean the back room and literally almost peeing my pants laughing! I miss those good times! I miss your sense of humor! I just miss you!

I remember when the Twilight producers were going to film the movie at my Mom's high school (sob..) and I told you about it. You had the totally fun idea that a group should travel up and try out as extras. The next time I saw you you told me that your husband thought it was a pretty ridiculous idea (not direct quoting here or anything). I remember thinking at that moment that you were sure a lot of fun to be around! Thanks for your great sense of humor! I enjoy it!

I remember when you were pregnant with Olivia. Now she is getting so big. It reminds me that I won't be pregnant forever. :)

Seeing you get out of your car at SLC with kids while pregnant and still looking hot?!?!? What gives? That is so not fair.

I remember the first time I met you when Steven brought you to church (our home ward in Vacaville - I was a laurel) and you guys taught the combined young women together. I think a lot of the girls were jealous of you, haha!

Getting lost coming back from a devotional in Provo and calling some *66 number or something to see if they could help us get home....our white bearded British Lit teacher in college and not being able to sit by each other in class b/c we would bust up over weird things he would say...

So I'm not the only one you stood up for VT? :)

I remember one "finish your project night" and it was just you and me that stayed past 9. We both had a beverage. It was fun to scrapbook and talk!

alright, very vivid memory I have of you. You had a sassy hair style, a black (leather?) skirt, and black boots that came up just below your knees. I believe you were in the R.S. Presidency and I was newly married and I thought, she's so cool!! lol

I also thought that cause you were SOOOO nice!

Playing piano for Melissa and I for our solo for sacrament. Apparently God agreed with me that I should never sing in public, unfortuantly that meant you broke your finger the Friday night before the solo! Priceless! God answers prayers in the most mysterious of ways! Thanks again for savign me from intense humiliation!

I remember the first time I met you, we brought Porter over to your house for the babysitting co-op. We'd heard a lot about you, but never met. I was so nervous to leave him with people we didn't know. So we stayed and chatted for a little while. After a bit, you and your husband said, well, uh, why don't you two head out. And I thought, well, why don't we, I feel totally comfortable leaving my child with them!

I think you have such a fun sense of humor and so much wit. I've often thought, I wish I had even a fraction of that.

I also remember long playgroup days and fun book clubs.

My memories with you are mostly just of what a happy and funny and gorgeous person you are.

One memory I remember particularly was that you took the time one day to let me vent to you about my issues! Not many people knew or cared to take the time to let me share the hard things I was going through as a newlywed with scary health problems and grief that I couldn't have a baby. Thank you for being the one who took the time, Mindy!

Okay I just read the other memories and I just have to say that Mindy probably only stands people up for VTing because I once was her VT (bless her soul) and I think often of how painfully long our visits were for poor Mindy. I remember specifically once when Steven left for a meeting Sunday morning after we had arrived and came home after the meeting and was shocked to see us still there. I was shocked myself that we were still there. Good times. So I apologize, ladies....and Mindy.....and Steven...

One of my first experience with you was at your bridal shower. I just remember there were so many new babies in the room and it was at your grandmother's house, I think. I remember her carpet in the living room, all cut like the designs in the carpet at the temple. The place was packed.

5th grade Mrs. Jenkins class. Dustin Chambers was in love with you. I remember one day we were in the hall and your mom was there for some reason and each Friday they would announce kids names over the intercom and there was some sort of prize to be won. Your name was announced and I remember you and your mom both cheered and were so excited together.

I remember being at your house once and you played the Little Mermaid, "Part of your world" on the piano and I thought you were so cool.

I remember we tried out for the Sound of Music together when we were in 5th grade.

And I have a ton of high school memories with you. Most of them involve laughing hysterically because your personality is so fun. Thanks for always lightening the mood. Good times.

Mindy, I think I met you once at a birthday party Audra had for the boys, but if not, I feel like we are friends cause I love to read your comments on Audra's blog. Could you please package up some of your wittiness and send it to me? It would be so fun to make people laugh.

I Want to Hear From You!
